Govt College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu organises a Rang Mahotsav to celebrate the Festival of Holi
JAMMU, March 22: Department of Commerce, Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu organises Rang Mahotsav to celebrate the Festival of colors.
Prof. S.P. Saraswat, Principal, Padma Shri Padma Sachdev, GCW, Gandhi Nagar Jammu, graced the occasion. He recognized and applauded the efforts of Department of Commerce in organising the festival of colors.
The event, held in the lush green grounds of the college, attracted diverse crowd, comprising students and faculty members. In addition, Rang Mahotsav, a traditional color play, the festivities expanded to a delightful array of stalls offering a variety of mouthwatering delicacies, spicy chaats to traditional sweets, satisfying the taste buds of attendees. With an array of stalls, the showcasing traditional handicrafts and exquisite clothing is also involved in the festival. The event served as a platform for local entrepreneur’s to showcase their talents and products, fostering a sense of community and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the region.
In a delightful display of unity and camaraderie, everyone joined in the traditional custom of playing with colors, spreading laughter and happiness throughout the campus. The vibrant atmosphere echoed with laughter, music and the spirit of togetherness. The event encapsulated the essence of Holi, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring. It served as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage that the college community cherishes and celebrates.
Prof. Surinder Parihar, HOD, Department of History, appreciated the efforts of the entire department in actively participating in organizing the event and spread the message to bring love, joy, unity and peace in order to brighten lives and strengthen relationships in future.
The organising committee included Dr. Asha Devi, Dr. Himani Arora, Dr. Vishali, and Prof. Sandhya Bhagat. The event was also witnessed by Prof. Pooja Charak, Prof. Jagmeet Kaur and Dr. Ramandeep Kaur.
