Govt GZSM Degree College Reasi celebrates UT Foundation Day

REASI, October 27: Government General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, Reasi organized a bunch of activities to celebrate the upcoming UT Foundation Day, on the theme ‘Badalta Jammu Kashmir, Badta Jammu Kashmir, Aman or Taraqqi ki Nayi Tasveer.

On this occasion, four different competitions were conducted including an Essay writing competition, a Painting competition, a Photography Competition, Videography competition.

The competition was conducted in two phases i.e. Intra College and District Level Inter-college. The first phase of the competition was conducted on the 25th of October, 2023 in GDC, Reasi. In the Ist phase (intra-college competition) four students participated in each category. Suhani Sangam, Sajjid Ali, Pallavi Sharma and Vanshika Chandan participated in Essay writing Competition. Sajjid Ali, Atul Kumar, Pallavi Sharma and Kajal Thapa participated in the Videography and photography competition. Sunil Kumar, Aarushi Kumari, Pallavi Thapa, Kajal Thapa and Atul Kumar were the participants of the Painting competition.

The winners of these competitions in different categories were Suhani Sangam (Essay writing), Sajjid Ali (Painting Competition), Atul Sharma (Videography competition), Sunil Kumar (Painting Competition).

Dr. Reena Rani, Prof Ajay Kumar, and Prof. Gourav Gupta acted as jury for all four categories of competitions.

In the 2nd Phase, a District level Inter-college competition in 4 categories was conducted today with the same theme to mark the celebration of UT Foundation Day. The participants were from the five different colleges of District Reasi which includes GDC Reasi, GDC Pouni, GDC Katra, GDC Dharmari and GDC Sarh Bagga (Mahore). Each college participated in the entire four categories.

In Essay Writing Competition: Suhani Sangam, Kaneeza Banoo, Zaheeda Parveen, Tanvi Sharma and Sakshi.

In the Videography competition: Kajol Sharma, Atul Sharma, Raja Keshav Dev Singh, Gul Afroz.

In the Painting competition: Sunil Kumar, Aisha, Ritu Verma and Sapna Devi.

In the Photography competition: Rashpal Singh, Kiran Sharma and Sajjid Ali were the participants from GDC Reasi, GDC Dharmari, GDC Katra, GDC Mahore and GDC Pouni. Sunil Kumar of GDC Reasi was declared the winner in painting whereas Sajid Ali of GDC Reasi remained the winner in Photography. Raja Keshav Dev and Tanvi Sharma from GDC Katra and GDC Pouni won the titles in Videography and Essay writing competitions.

The event was organized by the college cultural committee including Dr. Prabjot Kour, Prof. Surita Sharma, Prof. Ajay Kumar and Prof. Norin Akhtar. Dr. Reena Rani, Dr. Prem Singh, Prof. Darshan

Sharma, Prof. Gourav Gupta, Dr. Rajinder Kumar, Shashi Sharma, Prof. Mukesh Kumar, Prof. Ajay Kumar and Dr. Prabjot Kour judged the different events. The activities were organized under the supreme guidance of the college Principal Dr. Kulvinder Kour.

All the winners of the event will participate in the Divisional Level function to be organized by Women College Parade, Jammu on 30th October 2023.
