Govt MAM College collaborates with Rangyug for Performing Arts Internships
JAMMU, JULY 27: In a significant development for the students and arts community, Government Maulana Azad Memorial College (MAM College), a constituent college of Cluster University of Jammu, has collaborated with Rangyug, a Performing Arts Foundation in Jammu. This collaboration is set to offer skill-based practical internships in Music/Dance/Drama/Personality Development/ and allied fields to students of MAM College.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Principal M.A.M College, Prof. B.B. Anand and Director/President Rangyug, Deepak Kumar in presence of senior faculty members of college including Dr Kuldeep Raina (HoD Music), Prof. Sunil Uppal, Dr Om Raj Katoch and Ashish Sharma, Coordinator of Rangyug.
The MoU aims to enhance the skills of students by providing them with real-world experience in various Performing Arts disciplines. Key components of the MoU include practical internships, technical workshops, collaborative productions, and community engagement initiatives. Rangyug will utilize its resources and expertise to enhance students’ skills and career prospects.
It is pertinent to mention that Rangyug is a renowned not-for-profit foundation in Jammu dedicated to promoting and developing performing arts, including music, dance, and theatre. It collaborates with major institutions and has earned recognition for its contributions to the cultural landscape. Rangyug focuses on nurturing talent, providing training, and driving community engagement through the arts.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. B.B. Anand emphasized the significance of the new partnership with Rangyug. “This collaboration is a major advancement in integrating classroom learning with practical experience through internships, offering students invaluable hands-on opportunities.”
He added that the partnership is a transformative initiative that reflects the essence of NEP-2020, providing a holistic and experiential approach to education with a strong focus on internship experiences. He noted that the students will benefit immensely from the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals at Rangyug. This real-world engagement will complement their academic knowledge, enrich their learning experience, and significantly boost their employability.
Highlighting the impact of the collaboration, Deepak Kumar said, “This partnership goes beyond providing internships and it will significantly benefit the students and contribute to the cultural development of our region. By working together, we are creating a platform for youth to explore their creative potential in the performing arts and develop essential skills.”
