Govt miserably failed to protect the rights of weaker sections: Vijay Lochan
NC shall bring special schemes and plans for weaker sections.
Ramnagar July 1st: The present government has completely failed to protect the rights of people as well as weaker sections of the society in the J&K.
This was stated by Vijay Lochan, Chairman JKNC SC Cell, Jammu, while addressing a day long convention of Udhampur Rural at Ramnagar. The convention was held under the Chairmanship of Ramparshotam Sharma, District President Udhampur Rural.
At the beginning of the convention, Ramparshotam Sharma, District President Udhampur Rural, who organized today’s convention, apprised senior party functionaries of the problems faced by people of remote areas which include non-availability of basic amenities, unemployment, irregular power and water supply, local health centers and deplorable conditions of roads.
Addressing workers convention, Vijay Lochan said that the entire regions is facing great challenges due to misgorance and anti people polices of the present administration.He expressed great disappointment against the J&K administration for its negative attitude towards the people and alleged that the present administration is not showing the least concern to address the pressing burning issues of this section of the society.
He observed that the poverty rate is increasing day by day in the J&K. He said that justice has denied to Dalits in the state. The poor and Dalit people have been crunched socially and economically under the BJP regime due to which the future of Dalits and other backward communities are dark in Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
He stressed upon the need for stepping up efforts to ensure economic empowerment, besides emancipation of the weaker sections so that they can play their useful role in the society.
Lochan asserted that the National Conference has always remained committed to protect the rights of SC/ ST and weaker sections of the society in the past and shall continue to do the same in future too. He asked the party workers to gear up for the upcoming Assembly elections as these could be announced any time now. He urged the party cadre to conduct an outreach programmes in their respective areas and make them aware about how BJP has cheated them on the promises made by it in 2014 before going to elections. He asked them to reiterate to the community people the commitment of National Conference to protect the rights of the people.
Ch. Mohd Shafi Advocate and Rajesh Gupta Advocate said that BJP’s hollow slogans and promises made to people of weaker sections of the society have not been fulfilled as the Saffron Party continues to remain busy in other Self centric issues. They asked party cadre to work relentlessly as party’s foot soldiers in their respective areas to strengthen National Conference at all levels. They also urged the government to strengthen the security scenario in view of recent terror attack in hilly are of Udhampur district.
Rakesh Singh Raka Central Zone President and Eng. Vijay Kumar, NC leader, in his address, said that the tall claims made by the government with regard to unprecedented development in Jammu and Kashmir after abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A has proved to be hoax but the reality is that the situation has gone from bad to worst. They said general public is suffering on account of wrong policies of the government.
Mrs Vijay Laxami Datta Senior leader NC said that no justice has been done by the present administration to empower the women folk.
