“Govt sleeping, law and order have become zero”: Akhilesh Yadav on Farrukhabad incident
Kannauj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 30 (ANI): Launching a scathing attack on the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government over the Farrukhabad incident where two teenage girls were found hanging on a tree at Bhagautipur village, Samajwadi Party chief and Kannauj MP Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said that the government is sleeping and the law and order have become zero.
“Not only Farrukhabad, if you pick up a newspaper in Uttar Pradesh today, there are many cities where similar shameful incidents have taken place. Crimes against women and daughters are constantly increasing under this government. Chain snatching is constantly happening, businessmen are being murdered,” the SP chief said.
“Before the incident that happened in Farrukhabad, a similar incident happened in Kannauj also. The family members are not able to accept the story that the police are telling. The government is sleeping and the law and order has become zero,” he added.
Speaking on the upcoming by-elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Kannauj MP said the PDA (Pichhde, Dalit, and Alpsankhyak) will defeat the BJP.
“Those who are removing officers in the name of caste and religion are also filing false cases based on caste and religion. What kind of democracy is this? A complaint has been made to the Election Commission against this. Despite this, the PDA will defeat them (BJP),” he said.
Meanwhile, days after the bodies of two teenage girls were found hanging on a tree at Bhagautipur village of Kaimganj in Farrukhabad, police made it clear on Friday that the victims had died by suicide stating the post-mortem reports and arrested two accused in the incident.
Farrukhabad SP Alok Priyadarshi said, “After studying the post-mortem report, it has become clear that the girls had died by suicide… Police have arrested 2 accused in the case… It has been found that they used to harass the girls for talking on the phone… Due to this, they committed suicide… Further action is going on in the case…”
Earlier, family members raised suspicions of murder and claimed that thorns were pierced in one of the bodies and the body had marks from a belt.
“We are labelling allegations of murder because the girl with higher weight was up and the girl with lesser weight was down. She had marks of injury on her leg, and thorns were pierced in her body and also had marks of belts,” said the father of one of the deceased.
“We demand a correct investigation and the culprit must be punished… FIR has not been registered. We are sure that the girls have been murdered… Police are saying that it is suicide but we don’t agree with this version,” he added.
The father of the deceased also said that he had spoken to a senior police official and he is been assured of a fair investigation and post-mortem report.
Chief Medical Officer Farrukhabad, Avanindra Kumar also ruled out any evidence of sexual or physical assault. Avanindra Kumar said, “Postmortem of both the girls has been done. There is no evidence of sexual or physical assault.”
