Goyal holds public darbar at RS Pura

JAMMU, OCTOBER 26: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Home, RK Goyal, presided over a public darbar at the Bana Singh Stadium in RS Pura today.

Among the prominent PRI representatives in attendance were DDC Jammu Chairman, Bharat Bhushan, President Municipal Committee RS Pura, Satpal Pappi; BDC Chairman Suchetgarh, Tarsem Singh and DDC Members Taranjit SinghTony and Vidya Mottan. 

DC Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, SSP Dr. Vinod Kumar and ADC Harvider Singh, in addition to several district officers and members of the public were also present at the occasion.

In his address, RK Goyal underscored the significance of public darbars, emphasising their role in fostering direct communication between the administration and the citizenry. He noted that these gatherings provide a platform for citizens to voice their grievances and for the government to expedite their resolution through the appropriate channels.

ACS Home acknowledged the gravity of the drug menace plaguing various districts and assured the attendees that the administration was committed to combat this social ill vigorously.

He spoke of the substantial progress made in the fight against drugs and stressed the need for intensified rehabilitation efforts. He also highlighted the crucial role families and society play in this battle.

DDC Chairman, Bharat Bhushan, expressing his gratitude for the public outreach efforts of the administration, brought several pressing issues to the forefront. He mentioned the loss of paddy crops due to unpredictable weather conditions and urged the efficient distribution of developmental funds.

Bhushan also advocated for the desilting of the Ranbir Canal and the exploration of the developmental potential of different areas for tourism, including religious tourism. Ration card-related concerns were raised as well and he called for a united front to combat the drug menace.

Following the DDC Chairman’s address, other PRI representatives also shared their thoughts and members of the public presented memoranda and individual grievances for consideration.

All concerns were meticulously recorded by the ACS and district administration for immediate redressal while some of them were redressed on spot.
