Hari Singh reviews arrangements for Bharat Jodo Yatra
JAMMU, December 29: A Meeting of Block Presidents of District Congress Jammu Rural was held at Party Head Office in Jammu under the chairmanship of Hari Singh Chib, President DCC Jammu Rural to discuss the arrangement in connection with upcoming Bharat Jodo Yatra which is scheduled to reach Jammu on third week of January 2023. He discussed Yatra arrangements along the route falling in the jurisdiction of District Jammu Rural.
Hari Singh Chib, while addressing the senior party leaders, said that elaborate arrangements are being made to make the Bharat Jodo Yatra of AICC Leader Rahul Gandhi a grand success in J&K. He said Rahul Gandhi, through Bharat Jodo Yatra, has been raising a voice against the politics of division, rising unemployment, and problems being faced by the farmers and other weaker sections.
Hari Singh Chib said the Bharat Jodo Yatra is a historic movement and said that people of Jammu are eager for their welcome. He said that preparations are going well for the Yatra and it is being ensured that the Yatra will sail smoothly when it comes to the region.
“The padyatra is a foot march being undertaken by Rahul Gandhi to unite people from across the nation and it is extremely important for Jammu and Kashmir which has been singled out and ignored by the BJP government,” Chib said, adding that through his interactions with the local residents while on tour, he found that people are extremely eagerly waiting for the yatra.
Hari Singh said that the Yatra will receive the same response in Jammu Kashmir as received by the Yatra in other parts of the country. DDC Jammu Rural leaders are working with great zeal and enthusiasm ahead of the yatra, he added.
“It is the need of the hour that people from across the nation, show their stand against the Centre’s divide and rule policy by marching together for unity. We are meeting with people to deliberate upon the preparations so that no stone is left unturned,” he added.
Hari Singh asserted that Indian National Congress is the only party which can work in the interest of the country and the state. The historic work done by the party is a legacy the party still carries. Bharat Jodo reflects the same spirit of sacrifice and unity. Rahul Gandhi was taking up the ‘padayatra’ for about 3,500 km to awaken the youth to protect the country’s unity in the wake of attempts being made to bring differences within the society, he added.
Prominent Block Presidents who attended the meeting include Prem Singh Chib, Som Nath Sharma, Ajaib Singh Motton, Jagdish Raj Sharma, Romal Singh, Babu Khan, Vijay Tagotra, Balkar Singh, Parshotam Singh, Rajinder Kumar and others.
