Haryana CM Saini accuses Congress, AAP of spreading falsehood among people

Karnal (Haryana) [India], July 18 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday attacked the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party, saying that both are two sides of the same coin. He accused them of spreading falsehoods among the people.

The chief minister also expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory in the state assembly election later this year.

“The Aam Aadmi Party and Congress are two sides of the same coin; both lie but this time their lies have been exposed. The BJP government will be formed for the third time in the state,” Saini said here.

Saini also defended the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid on the premises of Haryana Congress MLA Rao Dan Singh. He said that the ED was doing its duty.

The ED raided multiple locations linked to Singh on Thursday in connection with its investigation into an alleged Rs 1,392 crore bank loan fraud case.

On bringing Sutlej water to Haryana via Himachal, the CM said that the state needs water, so it should definitely get it. Water is needed for the irrigation of lakhs of acres of land in Haryana, he said.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party announced on Thursday that it will be contesting the upcoming assembly elections in Haryana on its own. The AAP contested one seat in Haryana in the recent Lok Sabha election in alliance with the Congress.

“The Aam Aadmi Party has decided that it will contest the Haryana assembly elections with full force. We have governments in Delhi and Punjab; half of Haryana touches Delhi and half of Haryana touches Punjab. The people of Haryana appealed to us, that’s why we came here. Haryana gave a chance to the BJP, Congress and all parties, but everyone looted. Now bring Kejriwal,” Mann said.

Mann further said that AAP will form a team, contest elections and defeat the double-engine government in Haryana, which ruled the state for 10 years, as the people of Haryana want change.

This time, AAP will be contesting in all 90 assembly seats in Haryana.

Speaking on the issues faced by the people of Haryana, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said, “Unemployment is the biggest problem in Haryana… Agniveer Yojana is a betrayal of the soldiers of the country. Farmers are troubled in Haryana…What did the double-engine government give?… The demands of the farmers were trampled upon…Kejriwal will change the condition of Haryana. Today people have hope from the Aam Aadmi Party.”

Haryana is one of the eight states that will be holding legislative assembly elections this year. Currently, the state is ruled by a coalition government formed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). The Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 are expected to take place on or before October 2024, as the current Assembly’s tenure is set to end on November 3 this year. However, the election schedule is yet to be announced.
