HEW hosts Legal awareness programme at Govt. Higher Secondary School Chenani

UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 01: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Saloni Rai and under the overall supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta a significant legal awareness programme was hosted at Government Higher Secondary School Chenani District Udhampur.

Sankalp-HEW organised an awareness session, regarding women- centric legislations and increase the awareness about various centrally sponsored schemes for women in collaboration with DLSA Udhampur.

During the programme Advocate M.M Bhatt DLSA aware the students about enactment of criminal laws and special laws like ‘ protection of women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005,’ Dowry prohibition Act, 1961′, ‘ prohibition of Child marriage Act’ 2006, ‘ indecent Representation of women (prohibition) Act’,1986, sexual harassment of women at work place and other laws for protection and safety of women.

Meanwhile, Pooja Jamwal, Gender Specialist Sankalp HEW, Udhampur discuss various women centric schemes including SMAS, PMMVY, Pension Schemes, Scholarship scheme, Loan schemes, SSY etc. and also share Jeene Do helpline-9469793363, women helpline-181, child helpline-1098.

The program ended with a plantation drive -“Ek ped maa ke naam” where in students were actively engaged in plantation drives in and around campus.

Principal of School, staff members of school, PLV DLSA and around 130 students participated in the event.
