H&H Dept organises Exhibition/ Awareness programme at Sumbal
BANDIPORA, February 04: The Handicrafts and Handloom Department (H&H Dept) Bandipora on Saturday organized an exhibition cum awareness programme on the theme “Encouraging Cooperatives towards Self-reliance” for Industrial Cooperatives at Dak Banglow Sumbal, here.
The programme witnessed participation of a large number of cooperative members, artisans and weavers.
The camp was presided over by Shahid Ali Mirza, Joint Registrar INDUSCOS, Kashmir and Hakeem Reyaz ul Haque, Dy Director (Adm) and was attended by Mohammad Younis Mir, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives Bandipora, Showket Ahmad, ARI Handloom Srinagar, I/C ARI Bandipora, representative from Cooperative Bank and other staff members.
The primary objective of the programme was to encourage cooperatives towards self reliance and make them aware of the schemes and benefits available for them with the department.
The Joint Registrar INDUSCOS lauded the efforts of the INDUSCOS Unit Bandipora in reaching out to the artisans and weavers towards formation of cooperatives and apprised the participants about the schemes being run for their welfare and upliftment.
The Deputy Registrar Cooperatives Bandipora gave a brief speech on the benefits under Self Reliant Cooperative Act, 1999 which will pave the way towards self-reliance of the cooperatives.
Other officers and Guest Speakers also shared their views, techniques and awareness of the schemes among the cooperative members. The cooperatives were informed about the methods they can opt to be self-reliant with reference to the Self Reliant Cooperatives Act, 1999 so as to boost their livelihood in a respectable manner.
The officers informed the Artisans, Weavers and Cooperative members about the eight basic services of the Department that have been integrated with JK Single Window System which are now being provided online and hassle free on the portal.
It was given out that the Department has registered 485 new Industrial cooperatives in the district and released Rs 2.225 crores in their favour under the financial support scheme.
Success stories were presented by the Secretary of Shining Star Sozni and Milchaar Sozni Industrial Cooperatives of the district as a part of encouragement for others.
During the programme, Shahida, Secretary of The Shining Star Sozni IC Ltd Vijpara was felicitated with certificate of appreciation for outstanding performance during 2022-23 and Registration Certificates were also distributed among newly formed Industrial Cooperatives.
