Himachal Pradesh: Anurag Thakur visits Shri Awah Devi Temple, offers prayers

Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh) [India], May 11 (ANI): Union Minister and BJP candidate for Hamirpur, Anurag Thakur visited Shri Awah Devi Temple and offered prayers in Himachal Pradesh before hitting the campaign trail for the day.

Thakur is seeking his fifth term as MP from Hamipur.

The Union Minister is also scheduled to start the Vijay Sankalp Yatra ahead of the polling in the state.

“I express my gratitude to the voters who have showered their blessings always. I have full faith that like earlier they will keep blessing us…,” the BJP leader told ANI.

“…I have received a lot of blessings from the people of the district. This is our wealth because of which we win. After offering prayers at the Shri Awah Devi Mandir, we will start the Vijay Sankalp Yatra. Our party workers and state leadership have worked very hard for the elections,” Thakur told ANI earlier.

His father and former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal told ANI, “It is a very auspicious day. I pray that they receive a historic win in the elections. They have worked well (for the development of the country) The people trust them and are satisfied with their work…”

Earlier in the day, Thakur performed ‘Kanya Pujan’ at his residence in Samirpur, a village in Himachal Pradesh.

Himachal Pradesh has four Lok Sabha seats: Hamirpur, Mandi, Shimla, and Kangra. The BJP had won all four seats in 2019.

The elections to the four Lok Sabha seats of Himachal Pradesh and by-polls to the six assembly constituencies that fell vacant with the disqualification of six rebel Congress MLAs will be held on June 1.

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases running from April 19 to June 1. The counting and results will be declared on June 4.
