Hindi Divas Celebrated with Fervor and Enthusiasm in Central university of Jammu.
JAMMU 14 Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Prof. Sanjeev jain, was the chief guest on the occasion. Prof. Jain exhorted the employees to whole heartedly adopt Hindi in their day to day functioning as well as official work. He said that languages have to be promoted in such a way that the ‘Make in India’ initiative is being promoted. He said that we should feel proud of our language and resolve to promote it even more strongly.
Prof. Jain said that even today the mentality of Hindi speaking people is that if someone speaks in English then he is considered educated and if someone speaks in Hindi then he is not given importance. We have to work to bridge the gaps arising from this mentality and connect everyone with Hindi. While other countries like China, Germany, Japan are progressing in their own language, then why can’t India progress?
Vice Chancellor said that we should abandon the tendency to work as per our wish and should unite and do administrative work in Hindi only. There is nothing simpler and more convenient than one’s own language and only this language can transform a country from developing to developed. Although there are problems, their solutions are also available. The Vice Chancellor said that in future we will prepare question papers in the university through Hindi medium but for this everyone’s support is necessary. The Vice Chancellor said that the main objective of celebrating this day is to promote the importance of our language, so that our coming generations make our language more important and remain connected with it.
Dr. Dalip Kumar, Associate Prof. ,IIMC Jammu was the key speaker in the event. In his speech, he threw light on the history of Hindi Divas celebration. He highlighted the significance of Hindi and stated that Hindi language is at the core of India.He also expressed his views and called for the adoption of Hindi in very strong words. He said that Hindi is a language which is a medium to connect the diverse cultures of our country. It is a symbol of unity and integrity of our country. The importance of Hindi language lies in our way of thinking, our cultural heritage, and the development of our society. Hindi is spoken in various states and regions of India, and is a common medium of communication among people. We should understand that Hindi language is important not only in our country but also all over the world. It is a language that serves as a medium for people around the world, and through language we share our thoughts and ideas with the world.
He echoed Justice Krishnaswami and said that “if we need a single script for all Indian languages, it is Devanagari”. He talked about preparing a framework of Bhavishyam in Hindi which would be simple and easy and people could adopt it in colloquial language.
Prof. Bharat Bhushan, Head of the Department of Hindi, welcomed all the invited members and said that Hindi Day is celebrated every year on 14th September, so that we all can understand the importance of our mother tongue and promote it. Hindi language is the language of our country, and the importance of our own language is more than any other language.
Prof. Vandhana Sharma, Head Dept. of English, CUJ said that languages connect us instead of diving. She said more steps should be taken for the promotion of Hindi Language and it is our responsibility to enrich our language. She said today is Language Day for India and this day is being celebrated with great pomp in every office all over India. Various events will be organized in the university in the coming 15 days and I hope that Hindi will be propagated more in our university.
Dr. Priyanjan, Assistant Director (RHA) gave details of the programs organized by the University during the fortnight to all the present audience and also requested them to participate in the competitions organized for the employees and students of the University.
The function started with lighting of traditional lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana and ended with a vote of thanks by the Registrar, Prof. Yashwant Singh. He heartily thanked everyone present and also presented before everyone the details of the work being done in Hindi in the university in order to comply with the official language policy and appreciated the employees that in the last one year there has been a huge increase in the work being done in Hindi in the university. It has been done and expressed hope that this action will continue in future also. On this occasion, the message of the Home Minister on Hindi Day was also read out by Hindi translator, Shri Satish Prasad. This entire program was conducted by Dr. Bandana Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi and Other Indian Languages.
