His Holiness 14th Dalai Lama arrives in Leh

LEH, 12 July: His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama was accorded a warm welcome by the people of Ladakh on his arrival in Leh today.

His Holiness expressed his happiness for being able to visit Ladakh once again and appreciated the warm-heartedness and friendship shown by the people of Ladakh.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur was also present at Jivetsal to seek blessings from His Holiness. Ladakh Buddhist Association, Ladakh Gonpa Association, MP Ladakh, LAHDC Leh, and UT Administration, Heads of various religious organisations, other dignitaries and guests, and stream of public queued from Kushok Bakula Airport to Jive-tsal to seek blessings from His Holiness.

Also, on behalf of the UT Administration  ADGP, Ladakh Police, Dr. Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal and Commissioner Secretary, Information and Higher Education, Padma Angmo accorded a warm welcome to His Holiness to Ladakh at the airport.

Thousands of Ladakhis and Tibetans and school children in uniform lined both sides of the road as his motorcade passed, in their traditional dresses with scarves in their hands.
