Home Voting commences at Shopian; DEO flags-off polling parties
138 voters to cast vote through Home Voting across Shopian
SHOPIAN, AUGUST 11: In compliance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the District Election Officer, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today early morning flagged-off polling parties from Mini Secretariat, Shopian to different locations of the Assembly Constituency, Zainapora and Shopian to undertake home voting.
During the process, polling parties visited homes of Senior Citizens and PwDs totalling 138 voters in twin ACs of the district, across 51 locations.
87 voters of Shopian AC and 51 voters of Zainapora AC had registered for the Home Voting facility.
Eight (08) parties were constituted for Shopian AC and four (04) parties for Zainapora AC for conducting the home voting process smoothly. The polling parties consisted of PO, PO -1, Micro -observer and Cameraperson and were accompanied by security staff and BLOs for security and local facilitation.
The parties were equipped with all mandated polling materials to ensure the smooth voting process, under proper security, magisterial and Observer arrangements. The process was also videographed.
The voters registered their vote through Postal Ballots in the voting compartment in a secret manner and the polling process was conducted under the supervision of recognised agents of political parties and contesting candidates.
