Horticulture Department hosts Farmers’ Awareness Camp in Latti

UDHAMPUR, October 10: The Horticulture Department Udhampur on Tuesday organised a one-day Awareness Camp and Mobile Demonstration on the art of Fruit and Vegetable Preservation in Block Latti.

Over 80 women from different Self Help Groups (SHG) of NRLM enthusiastically participated in the camp, where they acquired skills in the preparation of fruit jams.

 The event aimed to educate women about fruit and vegetable preservation techniques.

Sarpanch Kasturi Lal, Tehsildar Paramdeep Singh and Manager-Cum-Chemist S.K.S Sodhi briefed the participants about the department’s ongoing schemes, including incentives available under the CAPEX Budget for the establishment of Fruit/Dry Fruit Processing Units.

The Horticulture Development Officer from Latti also addressed the participants, providing insights into various Horticulture schemes offered by the department.
