Horticulture Dept organize training for farmers, distributes equipment on subsidized rates

LEH, January 19: The Department of Horticulture organized a day long training programme for the farmers of Ulay, Yangthang and Hemisshukpachan villages under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) at Horticulture Garden Agling, Leh today.

More than 50 farmers/orchardists participated in the training programme.

District Horticulture Officer, Leh, Kunzang Wangmo and Horticulture Development Officer, Nubra, Dr. Sonam Dawa gave detailed presentations on various horticulture schemes that are being implemented throughout the district with the sole aim and objective of improving the livelihoods of the farming community.

The department also distributed horticulture equipment to the farmers. They stressed the farmers to have appropriate utilization of the items being provided on subsidized rates.
