Humanity Public School celebrates Lohri with zeal & gusto
Jammu/Samba: Lohri the Punjabi folk festival which offers a panorama of our culture was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm in Humanity Public School Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana. The entire atmosphere of the school was absorbed in the festive spirit and echoed the melodious vocals of “Sunder Munderiye” and the vivacious singing and dance performances of teachers captivated and assimilated the feeling of the festival.
Due to absence of students because of winter vacation, the celebration was conducted by school faculty and staff members.
Kamaljeet Kour and Ms. Jasmeet Kour accentuated the value of cultural heritage attached to the Lohri through their speech and poetry respectively. Punjabi boliyaan, Bhangra and folk Lohri songs performed by teachers wearing traditional attire was the prime attraction of the event.
The hallmark of the festival, lighting of the Bon-fire did not only absorb and assimilate the feelings but also proved to be reconciliation that submerged into all present there. It was a gala time as the teachers danced around the holy bonfire. The positive vibes of Lohri filled the air with happiness.
To grace the occasion Senior Incharge Akashdeep Raina, Keshav Raj Sharma (Incharge, Hr. Sec. Wing), Namarta Sharma (Incharge, Senior Wing), Vandana Sharma (Incharge, Primary Wing), Aparna Billowria (Incharge Pre-Primary Wing), Er. Varinder Kumar (IT Incharge), Mrs. Meenu Khajuria (Activity Incharge) and Mahaan (Sports Incharge) were present.
The celebrations of the festival of joy, thrill and excitement concluded following the rich tradition of distribution of groundnuts, rewari and sweets. Principal, Gaurav Charak and Vice principal, Anku Charak congratulated staff and they advised everyone to live a life of truth and virtue as it would prove to be an upper hand in enduring a respectable life ahead. Many fun and frolic moments were cherished by all present there.
