Hundreds of vehicles checked, 1 bus seized, best drivers felicitated in Doda

DODA, JANUARY 16: Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) today organised a Road Safety Awareness Programmes at Km 9  near Assar and in Doda Town under Road Safety Week 2023.

Checking of vehicles was conducted by the MVD team under the supervision of ARTO Er Kuldeep Singh at two Naka points. One Naka was put up in Doda town with the help of NCC cadets and another at 9th Km near Assar.

 During the Naka about two hundred vehicles were checked and one Bus was seized for carrying about 40 overloaded passengers. The Driving Licence of the Driver was also put on suspension.

All the documents, including driving licence besides other safety parameters were checked and only those vehicles were allowed to enter jurisdiction of Doda district which were found following traffic rules and safety norms.

During the drive various vehicles were challaned by MVD, Traffic police, assisted by District police.

 The whole exercise is being carried out under the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan. The Drivers were also counselled for adopting appropriate driving behaviour for their safety and the safety of the passengers. The best drivers following all traffic norms were also felicitated during the day-long checking drive.
