“I offer my humble tributes…”: Yogi Adityanath pays respect to UP’s first CM on his birth anniversary
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 10 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Sunday paid respect to the first CM of the state Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant on his 136th birth anniversary and said that the freedom fighter laid the foundation stone of development of UP.
Yogi while talking to media personnel extended his tributes to the great freedom fighter and praised him for his contribution to the freedom struggle of India and the development of Uttar Pradesh.
“On this occasion of the birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter and first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant, I offer my humble tributes…he was an active part of the freedom movement of India…he also established the foundation stone of development of Uttar Pradesh as the first CM of UP…” said Yogi.
He also mentioned that Pant while serving as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, also got an opportunity to serve as the Home Minister of India.
Born on September 10, 1887, Pant became the first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 1950. He later served as the Minister of Home Affairs from 1955 till his death in 1961.
Pant also served as the Chief Minister of the United Provinces from 1937 to 1939, before India gained independence in 1947.
