Over 400 participate in Mega event held to empower beneficiaries with Better Health, Nutrition
RAMBAN, June 24: In an endeavour to promote health and nutrition among targeted populace, the ICDS (Poshan) Ramban Saturday organized a Mega Camp at Gool.
The camp witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 400 beneficiaries, including 150 women and 250 children. The event also saw active involvement of the Anganwadi workers and helpers.
At the inaugural function, District Programme Officer, ICDS Ramban Jahangir Hashmi, sensitized the beneficiaries about the wide array of benefits available under various Poshan Abhiyaan schemes.
He said that the Mega camp organized by ICDS (Poshan) Ramban exemplifies the government’s commitment towards the health, nutrition and overall well-being of its citizens, particularly women and children.
Emphasizing the significance of seamless growth and development of children, Hashmi conducted height and weight measurements of the beneficiary children on the spot, promptly uploading the data on the Poshan tracker. During the process, a few children were identified with malnutrition, and immediate directions were given for coordination with health officials present at the camp to implement corrective measures.
Furthermore, as part of the initiative to ensure adequate nutrition, supplementary meals in the form of hot cooked meals and glucose biscuits were distributed among all 400 beneficiaries, catering to their nutritional requirements. The camp also prioritized the well-being of women and infants by facilitating anemia testing of beneficiary mothers and children, carried out by health officials.
Additionally, Jahangir Hashmi also listened to the concerns and grievances of the Anganwari Helpers and workers serving in this remote area.
The valuable feedback received during the interactions will aid in further enhancing the delivery of services and support provided to the beneficiaries. CDPO Gool, CDPO Ramban, Medical Officer Gool and other senior officials of ICDS participated in the camp.
