IIT Jammu: Arpita Nema receives a full-time PhD admission offer from NTU Singapore
JAMMU, 12 June: Ms. Arpita Nema, an M.Tech. in Data Science student at IIT Jammu, after successfully completing the India Connect Research Fellowship, has achieved a remarkable milestone by receiving a full-time Ph.D. admission offer from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore.
Previously, during her enriching 5-month fellowship tenure at NTU Singapore, Ms. Nema
showcased exemplary research expertise while actively participating in various extracurricular
activities. Recognized as “excellent” by her NTU Project supervisor Prof. Deepu Rajan, she has also qualified for the prestigious Singapore-India Hackathon, demonstrating her outstanding aptitude in the field.
Notably, Ms. Nema exhibited remarkable leadership qualities and held a deep passion for
addressing the challenges faced by women in research. She recently engaged with Prof. Sierin Lim, the esteemed Co-Chair of the Promotion of Women in Engineering, Research, and Science (POWERS) at NTU, to establish the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at IIT Jammu.
