Illicit liquor recovered; accused arrested: Reasi Police

REASI, March 10: Continuing the drive against drug abuse and illicit liquor launched by District Police Reasi under the supervision of Sh Amit Gupta JKPS  SSP, Reasi Police recovered illicit liquor and arrested the bootlegger involved in smuggling the illicit liquor.                             

On the information of Anti-drug unit of district police Reasi, police party of Police Naka Sulla during checking and frisking stopped one car bearing registration number PB-09F-3955 driven by Ajay Singh S/o Sham Singh R/o Buttan, Katra. During checking, 08 No. of bags containing 50 No. of J&K special Whiskey (750ml each) & 28 No. of XXX Double Cross Rum (750ml each) were recovered from the vehicle.

In this regard, a case FIR No 58/2023 U/S 48-A Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation started. Arrest and recovery was made by SHO Reasi Vijay Sharma under the supervision of DySP HQ Reasi Neeraj Padyar-JKPS and ASP Reasi Master Popsy-JKPS.
