I’m surprised whenever BJP talks about dynastic politics: AAP’s Saurabh Bhardwaj
New Delhi [India], October 18 (ANI): A day after Rahul Gandhi slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over dynastic politics, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said on Wednesday that he gets surprised that whenever the BJP talks about ‘Parivarvaad’, it does not look at its own party.
“I get surprised whenever BJP talks about ‘Parivarvaad’. Why do they only talk about Congress, Samajwadi party and Lalu Prasad’s family? There are families of Rajnath Singh, Anurag Thakur, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Amit Shah. In BJP there are hundreds of families in politics,” Bharadwaj told ANI on Wednesday.
The AAP leader also pointed out that since the BJP is only decades old it has two generations of political leaders, however, the Congress being a 150-year-old party has three or sometimes, four generations of political leaders in its fold.
“It’s obvious that BJP is a 30-40 year old party so you can see two generations in it. Congress is a 150-year-old party so you can see three-four generations in it,” Bharadwaj added.
“Did BJP do anything to stop nepotism?” he further questioned.
Rahul Gandhi on Friday took a dig at the BJP over their concerns about dynasty politics within Congress and said “What is exactly the son of Amit Shah doing?”
Addressing a press conference, on being asked a question about the BJP targeting Congress on dynasty politics, Rahul alleged that many of their (BJP) children are dynasties.
“What is exactly the son of Amit Shah doing? What does Rajnath Singh’s son do? Last I heard, Amit Shah’s son is running Indian cricket. Please be objective. Look at the BJP, many of their children like Anurag Thakur, are dynasties,” Rahul Gandhi said.
