Inaugural session on Mission Yuva held at GCW Parade
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 16: Government College for Women (GCW) Parade hosted an insightful inaugural lecture on Mission Yuva, in collaboration with the Department of Labour and Employment.
The event, aimed at empowering youth through skill development and entrepreneurship, saw an enthusiastic participation of over 200 students.
The session was formally welcomed by Principal Government College for Women Parade, Dr. Ravender K. Tickoo, who highlighted the importance of youth engagement in nation-building and the role of educational institutions in shaping future leaders.
The inaugural address was delivered by Pawan Parihar, Special Secretary, Department of Labour and Employment. Parihar emphasized the significance of Mission Yuva in addressing the challenges faced by the youth, providing them with opportunities for skill enhancement, employment, and self-employment.
Dr. Shahid Mushtaq, the resource person from Central University, sensitized the students about the program’s targets and implementation phases, offering a comprehensive overview of its objectives.
Dr. Jaya Bhasin, Assistant Professor at Central University Jammu, elaborated on the importance of creating a robust institutional ecosystem and business support system to help students pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations.
Kanav Mahajan, AGM at NABARD, delivered a talk on Entrepreneurship Development, focusing on the creation of effective business plans and project management for budding entrepreneurs.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Gurpreet Kour, Nodal Officer for Mission Yuva at GCW Parade, who expressed gratitude to all the resource persons and participants for making the session a success. The session provided a valuable platform for students to gain insights into the government’s initiatives for youth empowerment and the resources available to support their entrepreneurial ventures. The others present in the Program included Dr Alpana Vohra, Dr Mamta Sharma, Dr Surinder Singh Parihar, Dr Jang Bahadur Singh, faculty members of MCMP, Fashion Designing and Beauty and Wellness Skill Courses.
