Inauguration of Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 at Jammu Airport

JAMMU, October 28: Jammu Airport launched Vigilance Awareness Week 2024, reaffirming its commitment to integrity and transparency in public service. This year’s theme, “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity,” is designed to inspire staff and stakeholders to uphold ethical values and work collaboratively to eliminate corrupt practices.

The inaugural event commenced with an Integrity Pledge administered by Officiating Airport Director Shri S.K. Kapahi. Employees from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) participated enthusiastically, collectively affirming their dedication to ethical standards.

In his address, Shri Kapahi highlighted the essential role of Vigilance Awareness Week in fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. “Our commitment to integrity is essential in promoting accountability and transparency in all areas of operation,” he stated.

Throughout the week, a range of activities and programs, including seminars, workshops, and interactive sessions, will be held to emphasize vigilance and ethical conduct. These initiatives underscore the importance of anti-corruption measures, aiming to engage both staff and the public.

As part of these efforts, the AAI Integrity Club organized a debate competition at Government Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu. Students engaged passionately in discussions on corruption, and prizes were awarded to outstanding participants. The school’s Principal, Mr. Anu Bhardwaj, commended AAI’s initiatives. The event was well-coordinated by Mrs. Monika Jamwal from the school and Mr. Subash Chander, Assistant Manager (HR) at AAI Jammu. Additionally, Mr. Jasdeep Singh Dhaliwal, Assistant Manager (Commercial), delivered an insightful lecture on the importance of vigilance.
