Independence Day: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar hoists national flag, praises his government’s achievements
Patna (Bihar) [India], August 15 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday hoisted the national flag on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day in Patna and said that today is a historical day for every Indian.
“Today is a historical day for every Indian. We paid tribute to our freedom fighters and to all the soldiers who are serving the country. History is evidence that Bihar had played a vital role in the freedom of the country. Bihar always strengthens the democracy of the country. We formed the government in Bihar in 2005, and since then, there has been a rule of law in the state. Before 2005, it was a very low percentage of police forces, and now it has increased. We have to make it bigger,” said the Chief Minister.
“We also worked in the sector of health and education. Earlier the number of teachers was very low in schools. But when we came we worked for the betterment of these departments. We launched the Balika Yojana for the girl stundents. Now the numbers of girls and boys attending the schools are equal,” the CM added.
He further elaborated that 15 new medical colleges are in the process of making, adding to that he said, “We also increased the number of beds in hospitals. In collaboration with Tata, we are also making a cancer hospital in Muzzafarpur. AIIMS Patna was passed in 2003 during the tenure of Atal ji. The present government of India also gave a new AIIMS to Bihar in Darbhanga. A lot of bridges are in the making.”
The Chief Minister highlighted that in 2015 we brought Nishchay Yojna to Bihar. Therefore we brought electricity to every house of the state.
“We will give 12 lakh jobs to the people of Bihar despite 10 lakhs,” the CM said.
Meanwhile, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, in his Independence Day message said that his party would soon liberate the people of Bihar.
“With your support, together we will soon liberate all the people of Bihar who are trapped in poverty, separated from their homes, suffering from inflation and unemployment, and lagging behind in development, from poverty, backwardness, unemployment and migration and will create a new developed Bihar, ” Tejashwi Yadav said.
