Independence Day celebrations: Series of activities held at GDC Khansahib

BUDGAM, AUGUST 07: On the eve of 78th Independence Day, a series of activities including Plantation drive, essay writing and national anthem singing competitions were organised at GDC Khansahib, here.

The college NSS Unit and Landscape Committee in collaboration with the Social Forestry Division Khansahib conducted a plantation drive under the theme ‘Ek Ped Shahido Ke Naam’.

In her inaugural address college Principal, Dr. Nargis Bano, welcomed officials and other staff from the Social Forestry Department. She inaugurated the plantation drive along with Mohd Latif, Block Officer, SFD Khansahib.

Thereafter, under the supervision of NSS Programme Officer Dr. Sajad Padder, 45 saplings were planted by the volunteers at the college campus.

Earlier, the Department of Political Science in collaboration with other departments organised an essay writing competition and national anthem singing competition. A total of 41 students participated in these activities.
