India’s Immunization Efforts Are Improved by the U-WIN Digital Platform
Leh, 29th October 2024 – The Honourable Prime Minister of India today launched major healthcare initiatives, including the U-WIN platform, a digital breakthrough in universal immunization. In Leh district, the launch was celebrated at Chuchot Block Headquarters, with local healthcare officials/ stakeholders and residents gathered to mark the occasion.
Notable attendees included Dr. Tashi Thinles, Director Health Department, Ladakh ; Dr. Jamila Perveen, Deputy CMO & I/C CMO Leh; Dr. Farhana Iqbal, DIO, Leh; Dr. Norboo Angchuk, BMO Leh; Dr. Paldan, Dental Surgeon, PHC CHuchot; Medical Officers from PHC Chuchot, and Jigmet Namgial, VCCM Leh. The event saw a strong turnout of residents, led by Goba Chuchot Shamma Mirza Hussain, along with the Ama Tsokspa, the ICDS team & 15 ICDS children, and the local medical team, all reflecting the community’s enthusiastic support for these transformative healthcare initiatives.
The U-WIN platform aims to streamline vaccination access for millions of children and mothers nationwide. Applauding this achievement, Dr. Roderico H. Ofrin, WHO Representative to India, commended the government’s commitment to healthcare accessibility.
These initiatives align with India’s five foundational health policy pillars: preventive care, timely diagnosis, affordable treatment, rural healthcare strengthening, and advanced technology integration, underscoring the government’s commitment to equitable healthcare for all, including Leh’s communities.
