Induction Programme held in the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Jammu
Jammu, November 06: The Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Jammu hosted a highly successful induction programme today, on 06-11-2023, under the esteemed leadership of Professor Sangita Gupta.
The event, held at the department’s premises, brought together a diverse group of students and faculty members, marking the beginning of an exciting journey in the field of library and information science. The Induction Programme served as a warm and informative welcome for the new batch of students who have embarked on their academic journey at the Department of Library and Information Science.
Professor Sangita Gupta, the distinguished head of the department, played a pivotal role in guiding the event, ensuring that it was a memorable and enlightening experience for all attendees. Professor Sangita Gupta delivered a heartfelt welcome address to the new students, emphasising the importance of their chosen field and the numerous opportunities it offers in today’s information-driven world. Faculty members (Dr. Meghna Dhar, Dr. Pramod Kumar Singh, Dr. Bindu, Mr. Ashwin Kushwaha, and Dr. Reenu Arti) introduced themselves and provided an overview of the department’s academic programmes, research initiatives, and the unique learning environment that awaits the students. Distinguished alumni (Mr. Shashi Kant, former manager of J&K Bank, Dr. Tarseem Sr. Asst. Librarian) and scholars shared their experiences and insights, offering valuable career guidance to the newcomers.

The whole session was moderated by Dr. Meghna Dhar, and the vote of thanks was presented by Mr. Ashwin Kumar Kushwaha. The whole programme was a resounding success.
