Internal Democracy is pride of BJP: Rajni Sethi

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), one of the world’s largest political parties, thrives on its inclusive slogan, “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.” This vision promotes equal opportunities and development for all, fostering trust and unity among members, ensuring everyone gets a fair share in progress and representation, said Rajni Sethi, Spokesperson, J&K BJP.

Rajni Sethi said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stands as a beacon of internal democracy, setting itself apart from other political parties in India. Unlike many parties that operate on dynastic or centralized leadership models, BJP empowers its members at every level, granting everyone the opportunity to ascend the organizational hierarchy, from a humble booth president to the esteemed position of National President. This inclusive and transparent framework underscores the party’s commitment to democratic values.

Over the past two months, BJP has been engaged in a robust process of organizational elections, a hallmark of its internal governance. Every three years, the party renews its leadership structure through a well-defined electoral process. It begins at the grassroots level, where booth presidents are elected, followed by mandal presidents and district presidents. This chain of elections culminates in the selection of the State President and, eventually, the National President.

The election of the State President is a significant event, involving district presidents, state council members, and senior leaders as voters. Similarly, the process for electing the National President involves state presidents, national council members, and other senior leaders. This meticulous and participatory system ensures that leadership is not imposed but chosen through consensus and majority support.

Such a structured and democratic approach to internal governance distinguishes BJP as a “party with a difference.” It reflects the party’s belief in collective decision-making and the empowerment of its cadre. While other parties often face criticism for their lack of internal democracy and reliance on dynastic politics, BJP has institutionalized a system that encourages meritocracy and inclusivity.

This commitment to internal democracy not only strengthens the party’s organizational framework but also enhances its credibility among the public. It allows leaders to emerge from the grassroots, ensuring that the leadership remains connected to the aspirations and needs of the common people.

In essence, BJP’s internal election process embodies its core values of democracy, transparency, and inclusivity. This unique approach reaffirms the party’s position as a true representative of democratic principles, making it a role model for other political organizations in the country. The pride of BJP lies in its unwavering dedication to fostering a democratic culture within its ranks, setting it apart as a party truly of the people, by the people, and for the people.
