International Conference on Emerging Trends in Biosciences and Chemical Technology – 2025 (ETBCT-2025), Held at SMVDU
A two day International Conference on Emerging Trends in Biosciences and Chemical Technology (ETBCT-2025) commenced with great enthusiasm at the School of Biotechnology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, J&K.



The prestigious event brought together researchers, academicians, and industry professionals to discuss groundbreaking advancements in biosciences and chemical technology. The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Shri. Satish Sharma, Hon’ble Minister of Department of Science & Technology, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports, ARI & Training, Government of Jammu & Kashmir.
Dignitaries present on the occasion included the Chief Patron of the Conference, Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, and Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Executive Director, SMVD Institute of Medical Excellence as the Special Invitee.
In his inaugural address The Chief Guest emphasized on the significance of biodiversity and its crucial role in maintaining ecological balance. He highlighted the urgent need for awareness through educational camps and community-driven initiatives, urging researchers and academicians to actively participate in conservation efforts. The Vice Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Prof. Pragati Kumar, highlighted the significance of the conference as a platform to explore innovations in the field of science and technology and urged the young minds to develop technology of implementation. Prof. Ratna Chandra, Head School of Biotechnology and Organizing Secretary proposed the vote of thanks. During the inauguration the Proceedings of the Conference was also released as a souvenir. Plenary and Invited lectures by internationally acclaimed eminent experts in different areas shall be presented during the two day conference. Scientific sessions of the conference have been divided into different themes on Health Sciences ,Enzymology, Molecular Biology, Microbial Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Chemical Sciences, Environmental Sustainability, Bioinformatics ,Genomics /Proteomics and Animal and Plant Sciences .
The Inaugural Plenary Lecture was presented by Prof. RD Tyagi , Dongguan University of Technology, Quebec, Canada. There are 25 invited speakers of various fields from all around the globe and more than 200 participants from all over the country who shall come together during the conference to share their research experience through oral and poster presentations. Along with the conference, a Workshop on Skills in Biosciences is also being conducted at the School of Biotechnology, offering participants hands-on experience in various bioscience applications.
