International conference on Materials for Sustainable Development Begins at CUJ
Jammu, 1st May 2024: A three day “2nd International Conference on Materials for Sustainable Development and Technologies (ICMSDT-2024)” from 1 – 3, May 2024 at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, Central University of Jammu (CUJ).
The conference involved a gathering of renowned scientists and academicians across the country and abroad. The ICMSDT-2024 was organised by the Department of Nano Sciences and Materials under the patronage of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice chancellor, CUJ.
In his presidential remarks Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, Central University Jammu extended his heartiest welcome to the pool of intellectuals, dignitaries, and guests of the event. Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Kashmir graced the occasion as Chief guest.
Prof. Vinay Kumar, Dean of Applied and Basic Sciences, commended the Department of Nano sciences for successfully organizing the 2nd International Conference. He further emphasized the importance of the research facilities, which will provide students and scholars with valuable opportunities to engage in innovative research.
Dr. Vishal Singh, the Convener of the conference, provided an overview of the event, while Dr. Praveen Mehta warmly introduced the chief guest and invited him to address the attendees.
The first day of the conference featured two parallel sessions that included keynote lectures, plenary talks, invited talks, oral and poster presentations. The day began with ceremonial lamp lighting and the release of the “Abstract book.” Prof. Balaji Rao Ravuri, Conference Chair of ICMSDT-2024 and Head of the Department of Nano Science and Materials, delivered a welcome address.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Convener, Dr Pragati Kumar. Approximate number of 250 participants were registered for the conference. The technical sessions comprised the keynote talks by eminent speakers from various universities across India and abroad.
There were 27 delegates from the 13 Indian states and 26 delegates from 15 other nations that attended this conference. There were many participants from national and international level. Out of them 44 participated from 14 nations and 174 participated from 19 states of India. The conference was enriched by the presence of Prof. Sabu Thomas, Prof. K. K. Raina, Prof. Chennupati Jagdish, Prof. R.P. Tandon, and Prof. Ravi Kumar, who generously shared their expertise through expert lectures.
On the very first day, the faculty members (Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dr. Tanuj Kumar, and Dr. Pawan Kumar) worked diligently to conduct parallel sessions with research scholars and M. Sc. students.
