International Disability Day preparations reviewed at Bandipora
BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 23: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, the Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak Thursday conducted a comprehensive review of the preparations being put in place for ensuing International Disability Day-2023.
The concerned informed that the goal of observing international disability day is to highlight the abilities and contributions of individuals with disabilities while addressing the barriers that still exist in our society.
It was further informed that the preparations include organizing awareness campaigns, interactive workshops, and cultural events that celebrate the achievements of people with disabilities. The event aims to foster understanding and support for the rights of individuals with diverse abilities.
As part of the review, the meeting discussed logistics, accessibility features, and outreach strategies to ensure the widest possible participation in the celebration of the day.
The International Disability Day is observed annually on December 3rd to promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities. The day aims to increase awareness of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and advocate for their rights to full participation in all aspects of society.
The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, District Social Welfare Officer Bandipora besides the members of District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) Bandipora.
