Is Hello Kitty Island Adventure Feature Crossplay?
With Hello Kitty Island Adventure now out on Nintendo Switch and PC, you may be wondering if you can play with friends on other platforms, or if you can, in turn, transfer your saved data to another platform.
Let us catch you up on all of the game’s crossplay and cross-save features below.
Is Hello Kitty Island Adventure Crossplay?
As much as you enjoy spending time with friends in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, you’ll be bummed to discover that the game does not have crossplay with other ecosystems.
- At present Hello Kitty Island Adventure is available on iOS
- macOS
- Apple TV
- Nintendo Switch
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation 5
- Windows
While players on the Apple ecosystem can play together on several devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV), PC and Nintendo Switch players cannot play together (or with anyone on an Apple device).
Is Hello Kitty Island Adventure Cross-Save?
Game playing across multiple platforms via cross-save (or cross-progression) is the norm now. Unfortunately, the Hello Kitty Island Adventure doesn’t support cross-saves as well.
What that means is if you played the game on Apple devices right from the release and you would like to have the game on Nintendo Switch or PC, then you’ll be starting from the beginning.
You can’t switch between the two devices with the same save, and the game doesn’t support save transfer to a new ecosystem.

Do you need to subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online to play Hello Kitty Island Adventure?
Although you can’t play Hello Kitty Island Adventure with others on other consoles, players on Nintendo Switch can play with other players on the same console via online multiplayer.
If you want to hang out with your friends, however, you’ll need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play multiplayer modes.
Luckily, the subscription is only $20 a year, so it’s a small price to pay to hang out with your best friends, and it’ll allow you to use the online features of a whole bunch of other Switch games, too.
It’s a bummer that Hello Kitty Island Adventure doesn’t support crossplay and cross-save features, but here’s hoping that maybe it will be added in an update because of how big these features are.
In the meantime, just get your friends to buy the game in the same ecosystem that you’re in. Be persuasive. We believe in you.
