Is Valorant Crossplay on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S?
Valorant used to be a PC exclusive until 2024. Those console players who didn’t want to miss out on playing this online shooter game on a console finally got the chance to give it a go thanks to a Limited Beta and the eventual home release on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
Valorant Overview
Valorant is a team-based first-person shooter which can be described as a mix between Counter-Strike and Overwatch, but that has its own flavor that makes it completely different from these two titles.
With a huge list of heroes, weapons, maps, and modes available to you, this game is sure to keep you busy for hundreds, perhaps even thousands of hours straight. And it’s a free-to-play game, meaning you can jump right in at no cost.
Is Valorant Crossplay?
Unfortunately, the answer is: no. PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 players can exclusively play with each other on the same platform. This means that PC players can’t play with PlayStation 5.
But here’s a catch!
Valorant supports partial crossplay between PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles except for PC players. So, players playing on these two consoles can play together with each other in a single match.
The possible reason why crossplay is not supported in Valorant is that the console versions of Valorant are “custom built” per Riot, and the developer didn’t want to ruin the experience for any platform with cross-play capabilities.
What this means is that this option is likely never going to be added to Valorant. And that makes sense, as there are vast differences between control schemes, be it PC and console, so there shall be no unfair advantages and so on.

It is still great to see Valorant make its way to consoles. It was a highly anticipated title for PS5 and Xbox fans. Now they can literally give Riot’s hero shooter a try.
Because after all, it’s been a huge success and is currently one of the most-played online video games on the market.
Although a gamepad is a totally different setup than the keyboard-mouse combo we are used to, players have been impressed with the experience, saying Riot did an incredible job porting it to gamepads.
With that being said, always good to have options, you can’t go wrong with Valorant, and now that is friendly to most hardware since it is free to play, then it’s worth a shot at the platform you play.
