Ist Randomization of supplementary Ballot Units conducted at Bandipora
BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 18: In connection with General Elections to Legislative Assembly-2024, first Randomization of Supplementary Ballot Units for 14- Sonawari and 15-Bandipora Assembly Constituencies of Bandipora District was conducted today in accordance with the guidelines of Election Commission of India (ECI) at VC Room mini Secretariat Bandipora.
The Supplementary Randomization process was held under the supervision of District Election Officer (DEO), Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri in presence of representatives of the Political parties and Contesting Candidates.
The process of Supplementary Randomisation of Ballot Units was carried out through dedicated Software and additional required numbers of Ballot Units were allocated for use during the upcoming Polls, as the number of Contesting Candidates in 14- Sonawari and 15- Bandipora Assembly constituencies are more than 16.
On the occasion, 192 supplementary Ballot Units for 14-Sonawari and 202 supplementary Ballot Units for 15- Bandipora AC were selected randomly from the pool of available ballot units.
Prior to the supplementary Randomisation process, DEO briefed the participants regarding the process of randomization, ensuring the fairness and integrity of the electoral process.
The DEO said that randomization helps to prevent any potential bias or manipulation in the assignment of EVMs, thus ensuring that each polling station receives its machines impartially and in a transparent manner as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India.
The entire process was video recorded as per ECI guidelines and the list of Ballot units post randomisation was handed over to the representatives of political parties and contesting candidates.
Returning Officer 15- Bandipora, Shabir Ahmad Wani; Nodal officer EVM, Irfan Bahadur; Nodal Officer MCMC, Aadil Manzoor Wani; District Informatics Officer and other concerned Officials of District Election Authority were also present on the occasion.
RO 14- Sonawari, Murtaza Ahmad Sheikh also attended through virtual mode.
