BJP has done nothing on ground except event management: Bhalla

The March was halted by huge contingent of Police at Parshu Ram Chowk near DC Office where small scuffle also took place with Police personals. The protesters however observed Dharna at Parshu Ram Chowk and main road remained blocked for over an hour to draw attention of govt towards grave issues of public which so far remained largely unaddressed under BJP rule.
Prominent among those present on the occasion include Nirdosh Sharma , Paramjit Singh Pamma, Kajal Rajput , Pawan Sharma, Ravinder Pal Singh Nittu, Tarsem Saini, Narinder Khajuria, Satpaul Bhandari, Yog Raj, Kulbushan Sharma, Subash Chander, Arun Mehta, Vishu Andotra, Ravi Kumar, Sohan Lal, Raman Thappa, KB Jasrotia, Gurdev Singh, Sanjay Razdan besides others. A large number of workers and leaders joined the yatra.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said that all sections of the society are suffering under BJP government and all promises made by BJP have turned out to be hollow. He said, before Parliamentary elections, BJP had assured the people truckloads of financial help on coming to power but instead the NDA government has squeezed the existing resources in J&K.“Union government has failed India in its hour of need,” he claimed adding, the government has been clueless about controlling rising inflation, proved incompetent in handling economy and remained insensitive in dealing humanitarian crisis.
The Congress leader said BJP government has failed to address political and developmental aspirations of the people in J&K.He stated, while various projects are starving funds, the payments under MGNREGA remain unpaid.“Similarly, the problems of daily rated workers and other segments of employees are yet to be sorted out,” Bhalla maintained. He alleged that the insensitive government has failed to release salaries and wages to employees.
Bhalla said, BJP government has left no stone unturned to destroy the democratic institutions and stressed that the country needs fair and strong constitutional institutions.“Youths who were promised crores of jobs are still unemployed and feel betrayal by BJP. Back to Village programme of the government is a futile exercise and an avoidable wasteful expenditure,” Bhalla said adding that ground reports suggest no developmental activity in villages as there were no funds with Panchayats.
Exuding confidence that Congress will beat its previous tally in the ensuing elections to Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Bhalla said party was poised to form a strong, stable and responsive government in J&K.Given the support of the people, Congress will ensure lost dignity and honour of J&K people. He added equipped with high degree of public good-will and robust booth level cadre Congress will emerge with flying colours and serve the people and steering J&K to peace, progress and development.
Bhalla slammed the BJP for twisting the statistics, and said this spoke of its fear and frustration in the wake of imminent rejection by the people of Jammu & Kashmir. Jammu has suffered the most during the BJP’s over three years of ‘misrule’ and the electorate has firmed up resolve to teach the party a lesson by power of their votes for the betrayal,” Bhalla said, adding that fear of defeat had unnerved the BJP leadership, and that was why they were indulging in name calling and mudslinging.
“Political naivety and immaturity is hugely discernible in the BJP’s discourse,” Bhalla said, adding that this did not augur well for the democratic polity.Bhalla advised the BJP leadership to come of age and go for extensive introspection over the failures in a sensitive state like Jammu and Kashmir, where it failed miserably in feeling the pulse of the people and assuaging their economic, developmental and political aspirations. He said the BJP leaders had exposed themselves during their stint in the ministry, which cost the people hugely and pushed it to uncertainty and instability.
“How long will you hide under the umbrella of central leadership and get on with misadventures, which touched dangerous proportions in J&K ,” Bhalla asked and advised them to read “writing on the wall” and apologize to the people of Jammu for “ditching” them.Bhalla castigated the BJP for “hoodwinking public opinion” by generating euphoria over the issue of Chief Minister from Jammu .He accused the BJP of undermining the understanding and political sagacity of the people of Jammu.
“Will the BJP say how many educated unemployed youth were provided jobs in their tenure; what happened to Smart City project; why implementation of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana could not take off; why Artificial Lake Project and Tawi River Front Project on the pattern of so-called Sabarmati Project did not materialize; why the party failed to regularize the daily wagers and others despite a blueprint drawn by the previous Congress government?” Bhalla fired a volley of questions. He also asked as to why the BJP governments at the Centre and in the state reduced the one-time settlement of POK refugees to a paltry Rs 5 lakh per family instead of the recommended Rs 25 lakh per family by Congress government.
Pankaj Dogra speaking on the occasion said that Congress is the only alternative available to the people in J&K and now the public has made up mind to bring back Congress to power. The people of Jammu have experienced that BJP has cheated them on different emotional slogans and false promises only to achieve power but back-tracked on all those issues for the sake of power. The BJP exploited the people on different slogans on the name of religion, regions and castes but it was a tool to seek votes through these emotional issues. He accused BJP Government of habitual in raking up controversies to divert the attention of the people from their failure to provide a credible Government in J&K. Government is creating controversies as per pre-planned strategy in order to keep the people engaged and to divert the attention of people from the utter failure of the Government in J&K.
