Jal Jeevan Mission Stakeholders Conference held in Doda
DODA, April 05: The Project Management Consultancy Mission Directorate, Jal Jeevan Mission, in collaboration with the District Administration and District Jal Jeevan Mission Doda, conducted a day-long handholding and awareness programme at Town Hall Doda. The programme aimed to enhance awareness and knowledge of stakeholders about the mission’s goals and importance as well as their roles in its successful implementation.
The inaugural session of the programme was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti. Sajal Srivastava, Team Leader of Project Management Consultancy, conducted a session highlighting various aspects of water management and conservation measures. He emphasised the importance of the Jal Jeevan Mission in ensuring clean tap water for every household.
During the programme, Srivastava presented a detailed overview of various parameters of the Jal Jeevan Mission and explained in detail the roles and duties of various stakeholders. He also presented success stories and documentaries of achievements made under the Jal Jeevan Mission across Jammu and Kashmir to motivate stakeholders to play their role with dedication in mission mode. He also explained the data entry mechanism and other indicators of the Jal Jeevan Mission dashboard/website.
In another session, a live demonstration of water testing on Field Testing Kits was presented by water testing staff to train stakeholders. The Executive Engineer spoke about the steps taken by the district for successful implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission. The programme also focused on various aspects of water such as rainwater harvesting, artificial recharge, water quality, water-borne diseases, water saving, water handling and drinking water source augmentation/sustainability.
The programme saw overwhelming participation from various stakeholders including Pani Samiti members, Sarpanches, field staff of the Jal Shakti Department (PHE), District Project Management Unit JJM Doda Staff, Implementation Support Agency, Anganwadi/ASHA workers, water testing lab staff and FTK Trained Women from various panchayats.
The programme proceedings were conducted by Vivek Singh Jamwal, Coordinator of IEC JJM Doda. The programme ended with a feedback session during which stakeholders presented their suggestions and grievances, which were noted for appropriate action.
