Jamia expedites UG admissions; online application portal to remain open till Aug 7
New Delhi [India], July 31 (ANI): Following the announcement of the Common University Entrance Examination (CUET) UG 2024 results, Jamia Millia Islamia is expediting its undergraduate admissions process by keeping the online application portal open till August 7 to accommodate prospective students.
An official from Jamia told ANI the merit list for undergraduate (UG) courses admission will be based on CUET scores. The central university’s admission process has been delayed due to the late release of results by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
“The portal for submission of online application forms for UG course admission under CUET shall remain open till ten days after the declaration of the CUET result,” the official said.
This extension follows the recent CUET UG 2024 results announcement by the NTA. Of the 50 undergraduate courses offered by the university, 15 will admit students based on CUET scores.
Officiating Vice-Chancellor Shakeel Ahmed noted a slight delay in the admissions process due to the late release of CUET results. However, he assured that this delay would not impact the academic or semester calendar at the university.
“Although our admission process will be slightly delayed, it will not be as prolonged as in previous years. Importantly, there will be no impact on the academic or semester calendar,” Ahmed said.
The NTA announced the CUET UG 2024 results on Sunday. This year, a total of 1,347,618 students registered for the exam, including 717,000 male candidates, 630,000 female candidates, and 7 transgender students. The NTA score represents the percentile rank of a candidate, reflecting their performance relative to others who took the test.
