Jammu admin gears up for implementation of IMI 5.0
DC emphasises on coverage of all unvaccinated children
JAMMU, July 11: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa today chaired a meeting of District Task Force for Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 (IMI) campaign to discuss the action plan for 1st Round of Measles & Rubella Immunization commencing from August 7.
It was informed in the meeting that the first round of Immunization under IMI 5.0 will continue till 12 August, followed by the second and third round from September 11-16 and October 9-14, respectively.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner took a review of the action plan for the first round of immunization being rolled out to strengthen routine immunization and to achieve full immunization coverage.
The concerned official gave a PowerPoint presentation on the preparations and the action plan to ensure coverage of all left out children for Vaccination across the district.
While discussing the action plan, the DC directed the officers to work in synergy and mobilize grassroots functionaries including Asha workers for the purpose.
The Deputy Commissioner exhorted the officers to focus on the target beneficiaries, including children and unvaccinated/ partially vaccinated pregnant women.
The officials should also focus on areas with vaccine hesitancy/refusal for vaccination and areas with high left-out and drop-out children with a special focus on MR-1 and MR-2, said the DC.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the Indradhanush 5.0 is also aimed to eliminate Measles and Rubella.
