Jammu admin gears up for Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation Drive
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 27: The district administration Jammu is gearing up for Intensive Pulse Polio Immunisation Drive scheduled from March 3 to 5, 2024. The drive aims to ensure that all children under the age of five are immunised against polio, regardless of their previous immunisation status.
A meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya reviewed preparations for the drive, emphasising the importance of reaching out to previously immunised and any children who might have been missed during earlier campaigns.
Special camps will be set up at public places like bus stands, railway stations, airports and other high-footfall areas. Additionally, healthcare workers will conduct house-to-house visits to ensure complete coverage.
The Deputy Commissioner has urged all parents to get their children vaccinated during the drive. He highlighted the critical role of polio immunisation in protecting children from this debilitating disease.
The meeting was attended by senior health officials including Chief Medical Officer Dr Harbaksh Singh, District Immunisation Officer Dr Rashmi Sharma, Dy CMO Dr Arti Nayyer besides others. WHO Surveillance Medical Officer Azmat Khan was also part of the meeting.
