Jammu College of Education starts 4 year Integrated Teacher Education Programmes -B.A, B.Ed-Foundational and Preparatory stage

JAMMU, JULY 11: Govt. College of Education, Canal Road Jammu is starting 4 year Teacher Education Programmes  of  B.A B.Ed. (Foundational Stage)  B.A. B.Ed. (Preparatory Stage) from the current session 2023-24.

The admission to these courses will be done through National Common Entrance Test (NCET), 2023 which is being conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). The students who have passed their 10+2 examination shall be eligible to seek admission in these Teacher Education Programmes.

The submission of online application forms has started from 26th of June, 2023 and the last date  is 19th of July, 2023.

ITEP is a 4 year holistic undergraduate degree programme offering B.A., B.Ed/ B.Sc. B.Ed./ B.Com. B.Ed. This programme will be offered in a multidisciplinary environment after grade 12 of the School system or equivalent. It will prepare prospective teachers for 4 stage of the new school structure i.e. Foundational, Preparatory middle and Secondary (5+3+3+4).

The NCTE has launched ITEP in pilot mode initially in 42 reputed institutions of the country and Government College of Education, Canal Road, Jammu is one of them.

The Government College of Education has been recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to run B.A B.Ed. (Foundational Stage & Preparatory stage with intake capacity of 50 students for each stage.

The students who have passed their 10+2 examination and are desirous to seek admission (ITEP) in Government College of Education, Jammu can apply online for appearing in the NCET which is being conducted by NTA.
