Jammu police arrest three bootleggers, seize 121 bottles of illicit liquor
In a concerted effort to combat the menace of illicit liquor in the region, Nowabad Police Station in Jammu District executed a successful crackdown, resulting in the apprehension of three alleged bootleggers.
The operation, conducted during routine patrolling at JP Chowk, led to the recovery of a substantial cache of contraband. The three suspects, identified as Pawan Kumar, Chandan Balgotra and Shiv Balgotra, attempted to flee upon being signaled to stop.

A search revealed that they were each carrying a cardboard box containing illicit liquor. Authorities discovered and seized 121 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.
An FIR No. 86/2024 has been registered against the accused under the Excise Act. Further investigation is underway.
