This initiative comes under Operation Kamdhenu, a police drive aimed at eradicating bovine smuggling in the region. The authorities have identified these vehicles through multiple FIRs registered against them at various police stations across the Jammu district.
The SSP has urged the RTO to consider suspending or even cancelling the registration of these vehicles that have been found to be involved in bovine smuggling on three or more occasions. The letter also includes a station-wise list of the identified vehicles and the cases registered against them.
