Jammu police foil cattle lifting attempt in Gharota, rescue two bovines
In a successful operation, Jammu police thwarted a cattle lifting attempt, rescuing two bovines and seizing a vehicle in the Gharota area. The operation, part of the ongoing “Operation Kamdhenu,” led to the arrest of the accused, Subash Chander.
The police received a tip-off about the illegal transportation of cattle in the Gharota region. Acting promptly, a team was dispatched to intercept the vehicle.

Upon stopping the vehicle, the officers found two bovines that had been reportedly stolen. Subash Chander, the driver and prime suspect, was immediately taken into custody.
The vehicle used in the attempted theft was seized as evidence, and a formal case has been registered against Subash Chander. The investigation is ongoing, with police looking into whether the accused is part of a larger cattle lifting syndicate operating in the area.
