Jammu police raids house of murder suspect in Greater Kailash case
Jammu & Kashmir Police conducted a house search on Sunday, May 5th, 2024, in connection with the ongoing investigation into the murder case filed under FIR No. 39/2024 at Police Station Gangyal. The raid, following a court order, targeted the residence of Ravinder Gupta, alias Gola Shah, located in Greater Kailash.
The investigation into the case began immediately after the incident, with police detaining seven individuals believed to be involved for questioning. The house search, led by the Inspector In-Charge of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and SDPO South City Jammu, aimed to gather further evidence.
The FIR mentions charges under Sections 302 (murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 347 (wrongful confinement), and 147 (rioting) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Ravinder Gupta, alias Gola Shah, has been in the news previously. In 2019, he was arrested by the Jammu Crime Branch on charges including cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy. He was later granted bail.
