Jammu police seize vehicle, rescue cattle in anti-smuggling operation
In a successful operation aimed at curbing cattle smuggling, the Jammu Police rescued four bovines and seized a pickup truck in Jhajjar Kotli. The operation, conducted under ‘Operation Kamdhenu’, targeted the illegal transportation of livestock.

The police team intercepted the vehicle (JK19-7824) during a routine patrol. Upon suspicion, they tried to apprehend the vehicle, but the driver fled the scene. The officers then recovered four bovines from the vehicle.
An FIR (First Information Report) numbered 133/2024 has been registered under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act.
