Jammu-Srinagar highway remains blocked due to landslides, Mughal and SSG Roads also closed
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44), the only all-weather road connecting Kashmir with the rest of India, remains blocked due to multiple landslides triggered by heavy rainfall over the past few days. Restoration work is underway, but commuters are advised to avoid travel on the highway until it is fully cleared.

Traffic authorities have issued a traffic advisory urging people to postpone their journeys on NH44. Mughal Road, an alternate route connecting Jammu and Kashmir, and the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) road are also closed due to snow accumulation.
The incessant rain has caused multiple landslides at Mehar, Gangroo, Mom Passi, and Kishtwari Pather in the Ramban district. The continued rainfall is hampering restoration efforts.
