Jammu-Srinagar highway sees slow traffic due to rain, landslide risk; caution advised

Traffic movement on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NHW) is slow today due to rain and poor road conditions between Nashri and Banihal.

While traffic is plying in both directions, commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary travel on NH-44 until the weather improves.

Authorities have warned of a potential risk of landslides and shooting stones due to the ongoing rain.

The advisory issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police also highlights that other routes in the region, including the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) road, Mughal Road, and Bhaderwah-Chamba road, remain open for travel as of now.

Commuters traveling on the Jammu-Srinagar highway are urged to exercise caution and follow traffic advisories. They should also be prepared for delays due to slow-moving traffic.
