Traffic authorities advised travellers to postpone their journeys until the road is cleared and weather conditions improve.
According to updates issued by the Traffic Control Unit (TCU), traffic movement on both sides of the highway was halted due to shooting stones in areas like Kishtwari Pather and Panthyal. Rain showers were reported along the entire stretch of the highway.
TCU confirmed the closure continued, with shooting stones blocking the road at several locations between Nashri and Banihal, including Mehad, Panthyal, Mom Passi, and Kishtwari Pather.
Authorities urged people to avoid travel on the Jammu-Srinagar highway until the situation improves. They advised travellers to contact the TCU for the latest updates on road conditions before commencing their journeys.
Contact numbers for the TCU offices in Jammu, Srinagar, Ramban, and Udhampur were provided in the updates.
